What is a mouth guard? A mouthguard is something people wear when they play sports. Anyone who participates in a sport that carries a risk of contact to the face should always wear a mouthguard. Sports like football, boxing and rugby. Here are 3 reasons why children should wear mouthguards in sports.

Injury prevention

Mouthguards help prevent chips and cracks in our teeth. According to the Academy of General Dentistry recommends their use in sports and activities so that our teeth will not fall out during the sport. Mouthguards are usually used in wrestling, rugby, martial arts and many other sports.

Savings

Mouthguards don’t cost that much money. Stock mouthguards cost anywhere from less than a dollar to $5. Many kids complain about these versions being uncomfortable and making it difficult to breath, which makes them want to wear mouthguards less. A sensible idea would be to allow children to buy mouthguards with their stationary so that children's parents can save money.

Leading by example

Children may resist wearing a mouthguard due to peer pressure. Children can set a brilliant example just by wearing a mouthguard for the correct sport. Setting examples to the  other children can teach them to wear mouthguards when playing sports.

Most people would agree with me because mouthguards help protect our teeth when playing a team sport. Be sure that you wear a mouthguard as well.
