Number Sentences

  
We have been learning to write a story to match a given number sentence.

49+6=
1. Ashley bought 49 chocolate bars.  Her best friend Mary gave her 9 more.  How many chocolate bars does Ashley have now?

67-19=
2. Jared was given 67 bottles of drinks for their work party.  He forgot 19 of them in the car’s boot.  How many bottles did he take to the party?

146-68=
3. Timothy had 146 rugby cards.  Samuel had won 68 rugby cards off him.  How many rugby cards does Timothy have left?
230+145=
4. April had 230 trees in her backyard.  She woke up one morning and 145 more trees appeared.  How many trees are in her backyard?

4 x 5=
5. Mrs. Tuakoi has 4 bags of diamonds.  There are 5 diamonds in each bag. How many diamonds does Mrs. Tuakoi have altogether?

18 divided by 6 =
Autumn has 18 brownies.  She shared it with her 6 friends.  How many brownies did each of them have?
