Today, the students in Room 8 we doing enlargement. I don’t know all the details because I was absent the previous week. I watched everyone draw their grids with a piece of chalk and then enlarge their pictures on their netbooks/chromebooks. I helped them make “straight” lines for their grids. The outcomes for some of them were not accurate but it was good enough.
I am a Year 8 student at Glen Innes School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 8 and my teacher is Mrs Ramkolowan.

Haiku
We were learning about Haiku's. Haiku's are Japanese Traditional Poems. There are three lines in a Haiku Poem. They also have rules. 1. They must have 17 syllables (5,7,5)
2. It has to be a seasonal reference
3. It has to have a cutting point in the first or second line. (-,.!?)
I was in a group and we created our own Haiku.

Measuring Angles
This game helped me to understand how to use a protractor. I had to rotate the protractor to be in line with the red line and see what angle it was. I measured it accurately. I reckon this game would be useful to those people who still struggle using a protractor. It really does help you understand using a protractor properly.
