A freezing cold, rock solid sandwich filled with white foam rises my suspicion of how it would taste as it settles in my hand. Feeling like an ice cube as I rest it in between my fingers. One bite and the sensation of the foam just fill me right up. The pink covers were soft and just fell apart as soon as it touched my tongue. I hit a hard piece of chocolate and the coldness of the foam mixed with it which gave off an exquisite taste.
I am a Year 8 student at Glen Innes School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 8 and my teacher is Mrs Ramkolowan.

Malala Yousafzai
I believe Malala is an extremely inspirational person. Ever since the taliban stopped the girls of Nigeria, Syria and Pakistan from going to school, Malala still fought for the right to be educated. She is an honest person too. Whenever she feels that something needs to be done, she’ll speak up. From reading her book, “I am Malala,” I think it is clear that she is a really hopeful person and does whatever needs to be done so it works out for everyone. On the way to school, she was shot in the bus but she wasn’t angry at the person who shot her, instead she chose to move on and forget about what happened that day and not much people would be able to turn away from that kind of situation. If she believes something can be done, she stays firm in that. One day I would like to be like Malala and change the world for the greater good.

Easter
The Easter Bunny
The exact origins of this mythical mammal is unclear, but rabbits are an ancient symbol of fertility and new life. According to some sources, the Easter Bunny arrived in America in the 17th century with German immigrants who settled in Pennsylvania and transported their tradition of the egg-laying hare called Osterhase or Oschter Haws. Their children made nests in which this creature could lay its coloured eggs. Eventually, this custom spread across the United States and then they started creating bunny shaped chocolates and gifts.
Bet You Didn't Know
The Easter Bunny is not the only animal that is associated with Easter. In Switzerland, an Eagle delivers the Easter eggs. While in different parts of Germany, the Easter Fox, Chick, Rooster and Stork deliver the eggs.
The Easter Egg
Easter is a religious holiday, but some of its customs, such as the Easter eggs, are likely linked to pagan traditions. The egg, an ancient symbol of new life, has been associated with pagan festivals celebrating spring. From a Christian perspective, Easter eggs are said to represent Jesus's emergence from the tomb and resurrection. Decorating eggs for Easter is a tradition that dates back to at least the 13th century, according to some sources. One explanation for this custom is that eggs were formerly a forbidden food during the Lenten season, so people would paint and decorate them to mark the end of the period of penance and fasting, then eat them on Easter as a celebration.

Corn Art
This is my corn art. We were doing this because we were doing research about corn topic study. I found it interesting that corn is also known as maize and that it was discovered in Mexico. For our art, we had to find a picture on google images but everyone had to do something different. We sketched it and then painted. To be honest, I didn't want to use the paint because I thought it would ruin my sketch and I wanted to use colouring pencils instead. But I painted anyway. I outlined it with a black marker and then used blue dye for the background. Then I trimmed the edges to make it fit on an orange paper.
Math Man
In this game, I had to add and subtract fractions. I was Pac Man and the Ghost with the correct answer, I had to eat it. If I chose the wrong answer, I would lose a life. There are 3 lives in total. I was only able to reach level 7 and my score was 29. I found this game easy because this only had adding and subtracting fractions of the same denominators. I'd like to revise multiplying and dividing fractions with different denominators.
