Netbook Reflection
Big Question: How has having a netbook connected to the internet helped my learning this year?
Having a netbook connected to the internet has helped me because I can visit many different sites like studyladder and sumdog. These sites help me with my times tables, fractions and other learning area. Story starters helps me with my writing. I write narrative stories whenever I visit this website and I use popplet to do the brainstorming for my writing. Some applications like; Pixlr Editor, Sumo Paint and Google Draw help me when I want to draw illustrations for my stories. I can use Google Presentation to put all my facts in a slide show. I have learnt most of the keyboard shortcuts and I use them all the time. I do reading comprehensions and I learn many different things. I can post a blog, edit it and delete it. I use Google Search to gather information and facts about any topic we are doing at school. I use Google Images to take a screenshot of picture that I really like. When I am online, I learn to be cybersmart. To be cybersmart, I have to be careful and when I am writing a comment, I have to be positive and specific. Netbooks help me pick up information faster. Researching is much more fun and I am learning more because I can access the internet anytime.
When I use the internet outside of school, I go on Youtube and I learn how to make rag rugs. I learn how to make rag rugs because I do not want to let the rag rugs go to waste. I have learnt how to do a braided way, how to do a crochet wat and many others. I find making rag rugs very interesting. There are other ways that I can make rugs too. I could use old t-shirts, face cloths, tea’-towels and much much more. I always say to myself “Learning different things, helps me through to the future”.
