Multiplying fractions

WALHT: Multiply Fractions

I played this online game to help me have a better understanding of multiplying fractions. If the answer was correct, you get 2 points, if you forgot to simplify you get 1 point, and if you get it completely wrong, then it doesn’t give you any points. I think I did alright in this game. I got one wrong and forgot to simplify once. This game was easier than I thought it would be. Next, I would like to try an online division of fractions game.

Fractions

Screenshot 2016-03-21 at 9.37.01 AM.png

In this game, I had to answer questions about which fraction was greater. As shown, I asnswered 20 questions and my score was 75. Every time I got an answer correct, my score went higher. But every time my answer was wrong, it went down. I found this activity easy because I already know my fractions. I would like to play this game again and see if I could beat my score.

Adding and Subtracting Fractions

This game is called Speedway. I had to add and subtract fractions but the answer was sometimes given in its simplest form. This game was kind of a brain puzzle because I got confused at some stage. I enjoyed playing this game. I came second on this game and didn't get any incorrect answers.

Ratio Blaster

Screenshot 2015-07-02 at 10.11.41 AM.png

In this game, I had to choose the ratio that was equal to the one on the bottom. I think I needed to know my fractions for this game because sometimes I had to find the fraction that equals to half. I found this hard in the beginning but when I started to play a few more levels, it was gradually getting easier. I think I still need to play this game a couple of times because I got some of them wrong.

If you want to take the challenge, here’s a link.

Ordering Fractions

Screenshot 2015-03-23 at 9.29.37 AM.png

In this game, I had to order the fractions from smallest to biggest. I got a score of 2711 and as shown on the scoreboard, my score was second. In order for me to know which one was smaller, I had to check the sizes of both fractions. I got all of them correct but unfortunately, I came in second place. I enjoyed playing this game because it was fun and easy. Next time, I will do my best to be on top.

Positioning fractions on the numberline

Screenshot 2015-03-18 at 9.23.48 AM.png
WALT: position fractions on the number line.

In this game, I had to position fractions on the number line. Mrs. Ramkolowan helped a lot with teaching us how to position them. Although I already knew how to do it because of my remembrance of the previous year. This game gave me an easy example so straight away the answer came to mind and the answer was correct.

Word Problems

Screenshot 2014-09-12 at 9.17.28 AM.png

In this game, I had to solve word problems using fractions. These were difficult for me because I was confused with some of the questions but I got all of them correct. I would like to get harder word problems with fractions.

Equivalent fractions

Screenshot 2014-08-22 at 9.47.01 AM.png
WALT: solve problems with fractions.

This game is called Equivalent Fish. I needed to know how to simplify the fractions to its lowest form. I had to control the bird to eat the correct fish with right answer.  Every time I got the answer correct, I get awarded 100 points. But if I get it wrong, it minuses 25 points and the bird pukes the fish out. This game was challenging because I got plenty of the answers incorrect and I lost a lot of points. I think I need more practice to learn how to simplify the fractions to its simplest form.

Identifying decimals

Screenshot 2014-05-29 at 9.53.08 AM.png
WALT: solve division and multiplication problems.

I am learning to identify decimals. This was easy for me because we are learning our decimals. The answer for this is 0.11 because there are 11 blocks that are coloured and there are 100 blocks altogether. The fraction of this is 11/100. So it should be 0.11. Next I want to convert decimals into fractions.
