Kangaroos

Did you know that there are only 2 types of kangaroos? They are red and grey. Kangaroos are also very furry so that it can keep them warm.  Mother kangaroos have a pouch so that she can carry her baby in it.

The babies are called Joeys.  Joeys have no fur when they are born.  Adult kangaroos have a very strong tail to help them hop around.  Kangaroos like to eat grass and like to take a nap during the day.  Kangaroos only live in most part of Australia.  That’s all `the interesting facts I know about kangaroos.

Mothers’ Day

On Sunday, 12th  May 2013, it was a very special day for all mothers because it was mothers day.  It was as beautiful as anyone could imagine.  People who celebrate mothers day do it because they love their mothers.  I was as happy as people laughing with joy.  But I didn’t celebrate mothers day for my mum.  I celebrated it for my dad’s mum ( my nana ).  My mum was happy to do it for her mother-in-law.  After they came back from shopping for a gift.  We wrapped it up happily.  We decorated it and we wrote on it.  It was messy like our garage.  Finally,  we delivered the gift to out nana and I didn’t know what it was.  The gift was a surprise. When my nana took off the wrapping paper we were all watching to see what’s inside.  It was a juice maker! My grandmother was surprised.  We stayed for a while and then we headed back home.

All about me

Hi my name is Andrea and I am 11 yrs old. I live in Glen Innes, Auckland.  I am Maori/Niuean.  My mum is Maori and my dad is Niuean. I have 4 brothers, 1 sister and a dog named Kibou. In chinese it means hope.  I enjoy singing and dancing as well.  I always ride on my orange bike and I love having fun.  

In addition, I know what the longest word in the dictionary is but I don't know what it means.  I love cooking food with my parents such as: Maori bread, mashed potatoes and homemade cake.  I am good at all sorts of sports such as: swimming, soccer and sprinting. My favourite colour is blue.  I have fantastic friends and their names are  Shanelle, Hilda-Rose, Lauren, Sina and Lana. I also love eating fruit.   Sometimes, I have to help my classmates with their work.


Moreover, I try my best to not do anything wrong.  When I grow up I want to be a dentist or a builder.  Many people say to me” be a dentist  because they make a lot of money”.  I have a teacher that teaches me very well so I can learn some more interesting things.

Last but not least,  I like playing on bouncy castles. I am on list 8 for spelling and when I’m bored I write poems.  I can count to ten in two different languages.  My favourite subject is Maths because I learn different strategies to solve problems.
